The annual Taichung Jazz Festival kicks off on September 30th and will last for 10 marvelous days, featuring phenomenal jazz musicians from 13 countries across Europe, America, Asia and Africa. Themed 100 years of Jazz, the festival praises a variety of jazz genres.
During the 10-day festival, there will be extravaganza of well-received jazz bands at main stage, up-and-coming and experienced artists playing at up-close stages. Additionally, this year’s event venue has expanded to includ the mountain, seaside and basin areas of Taichung, allowing performers to reach out further with their jazz charisma.
This year, Taichung Jazz Festival is honored to have Grammy winner, Aaron Lington collaborate with Teen Star on the 100 years of Jazz theme song. What’s more, Taiwan’s very first Jazz Train is set to depart in the afternoon on September 24th from Taipei and will swing all the way down to Taichung.
As from a week prior to the festival, traffic lights at intersections around Taichung Civic Square will play the theme song, immersing the city in a jovial jazz momentum to welcome the grand festival.
