The creative light view exhibition in Liuchuan organized by the Water Resource Bureau last year received a great deal of favorable comments. Since the art embellished romantic waterfront has become such a well received landmark, the 2017 Taichung Christmas Carnival Activities co-organized by the Information Bureau and Water Resource Bureau will take place in Liuchuan again, featuring sparkling lights and a series of activities that will last until the new year.
The 2017 Taichung Christmas Carnival Activities are highlighted with a 9-meter-tall Christmas tree in Liuchuan. In promotion of the 2018 Taichung World Flora Exposition, this pioneering water Christmas tree is adorned with Taichung’s four largest flower exports including the flaming lily, gladiolus, dancing-doll orchid, and lily. The conventional Christmas tree at Yang Ming Building can still be sighted while Christmas activities kick off simultaneously.
A series of Christmas activities this year include a Christmas Market in Liuchuan from December 9 to December 25. Local cuisines, overseas delicacies, artisans and artists jointly create a distinctive northern Europe Christmas vibe in Taichung. In addition, two interactive devices are installed for citizens to experience the avant-garde shadow puppetry show. The Christmas Carnival will end after December 25, while the light view arts exhibition will continue until March 4, 2018. Additionally, singing, dancing, and street performances will last for three days from December 23 to December 25 at the Yang Ming Building in Fengyuan.
