The historic building Taichung Fourth Market, located on Nanjing Road in Taichung’s East District, was revitalized with private-sector resources and creativity, and officially reopened on December 4, 2021. It has been transformed into a destination that combines youth entrepreneurship with cultural heritage. The exterior retains its unique “Prince Building” roof, while the interior incorporates stainless steel tables and chairs, weathered market signboards, and a cozy reading area, creating an eclectic and inviting space. With its distinctive style, it has become a popular photo spot in Taichung.
The venue regularly hosts history and culture exhibitions, manga and illustration-themed events, as well as local youth entrepreneurship markets. It also integrates illustration themes with local agricultural products, offering goods, light meals, and beverages. Taichung Fourth Market thus provides a space where local cultural experiences meet leisure and entertainment, while preserving its historic architecture and supporting young entrepreneurs.
