1st “Taiwan Lantern Festival with Smell and Snow! The Side Exhibition Begins in Taichung on 12/21

The 2020 Taiwan Lantern Festival in Taichung will have its side exhibition open on December 21st at the Wenxin Forest Park and Mayor Lu Shiow-Yen today (16th) announced the internationally well-known characters of capsule toys from “Shakurel Planet” and “Tropical Fruit Bird” will turn the Park into a "Kids' Paradise."

The Exhibition lasts over five important days including Christmas, New Year’s Day, the Lunar New Year, the Lantern Festival and Valentine’s Day. It is also the first “Taiwan Lantern Festival with smell and snow!” Visitors around the world are welcome to explore the interesting side of Taichung!
 

Mayor Lu said, “Taichung is ready!” The 2020 Taiwan Lantern Festival in Taichung is going to be the longest celebration starting from December 21st in the secondary exhibition area of the Wenxin Forest Park and ending on February 23rd next year. This Festival is also going to be the most exciting and beautiful one!
 

Director General of Lin Hsiao-Chi said the side exhibition features “children’s fun” with the designated lantern exhibition areas including “Garden of Zodiac Sign,” “Tropical Jungle,” “Festival,” “Colorful World,” and “Meeting with International Stars.” More than 50 bright lanterns will be exhibited that “attracts YouTubers and Internet celebrities to come with their popular IG photos and make a big fuss on the Internet!”
 

Additionally, on each weekend, incorporating with the “Children Music Stage,” about 100 interactive performing events will be presented including the famous signer from Thailand, Gail Sophicha and Taiwanese signers, Liang Wen Yin and Cosmos People, and children’s favorite YOYO family, children’s choir and symphony band, magic show, and balloon joker. Wenxin Forest Park will be turned into a large-scale children’s wonderland.
 

Especially, in the exhibition area, from the beginning day to the New Year’s holiday, Light Forest, every day features artificial snow with a giant snowman on the side. The following two weekends after New Year, around the area of “Tropical Fruit Bird,” diva concerts are presented to create the fruity atmosphere for “the 1st Taiwan Lantern Festival with Smell and Snow.”
 

Director General Lin also mentioned that in order to prepare for the Children’s Fun Park at the Wenxin Forest Park, the Civil Affairs Bureau planned a lantern parade of 29 areas at 6:00 on the evening of December 20th starting from Dadun 7th St. and Huiwen Rd. to the main routes in the Nantun District and Xitun District including Henan Rd. and Wenxin Rd. At 4:00 on the afternoon of December 21st, around the sidewalks of the Wenxin Forest Park, there will be a parade participated in by adults and children. At 6:30 in the evening, an exciting performance will be on. Everyone is welcome to have fun together.
 

The 2020 Taiwan Lantern Festival will be held in Houli Expo Park and Wenxin Forest Park. The Bureau of Tourism and Travel today organized “the 2020 Taiwan Lantern Festival and Children’s Fun Park” press conference for its promotion. Participants including Mayor Lu, Deputy Mayor, Yang Chiung-Ying, Vice Secretary General, Chu Kang-Chen, Director General of Construction Bureau, Chen Ta-Tien, Director General of Water Bureau, Fan Shi-Yi, Director General of Agriculture Bureau, Tsai Ching-Chiang, Director General of Bureau of Cultural Affairs, Chang Ta-Chung, Director General of Police Bureau, Yang Yuan-Ming, Director General of Council for Hakka Affairs, Chiang Chun-Lung, Councilmen, Chen Wen-Cheng and Liu Shi-Chou, and the Thai singer, Gail Sophicha, will all put on the “Shakurel Planet” and “Tropical Fruit Bird” hats on their heads for photoshoots and announced the beginning of the 2020 Taiwan Lantern Festival at the Wenxin Forest Park on December 21st.
